On May 13th, Alicia Carey, current PTA Co-President, introduced the 2010-2011 PTA Executive Board Members.

Miriam Johnson - President
Felicia Jackson - Co -Vice President
Soraya El Mahdi - Co -Vice President
Yashica Weeks - Treasurer
Alicia Carey - Secretary

There were 50 PTA members in attendance at the PTA Meeting/Chorus Performance on May 13. The motion to decrease the number of PTA members required for a quorum was approved by the PTA general assembly. Therefore, Article XII, Section 6 of Britt's PTA bylaws will be changed to reflect that 15 PTA members shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of PTA business in any meeting.

Nominating Committee’s Slate of Proposed Officers - Britt’s PTA 2010-2011

For Treasurer: Yashica Weeks

Elections for Britt’s 2010-2011 PTA Officers will be held on Tuesday,
April 27th at 7:30 AM. We encourage all PTA members to attend this meeting.
April 13, 2010

-The PTA Nominating Committee will post a slate of nominated PTA officers for the 2010-2011 school year in the lobby of the school, this Friday, April 16th.

-All PTA members are encouraged to attend the next PTA general assembly meeting on April 27 at 7:30 A.M. Elections for Britt's 2010-2011 PTA Officers will take place during this meeting. All PTA members are encouraged to attend.

-A motion was made to change Britt's current bylaws which states that 50 members shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business in any meeting of this local PTA. A motion was made to decrease the quorum amount needed from 50 PTA members to 15 PTA members, as stated in Article XII, Section 6 of Britt's PTA bylaws.

-A motion was made to amend our budget. Yashica Weeks, PTA treasurer, will present an amended budget at the next meeting on 4/27.

2010 - 2011 Nominating Committee
In a PTA general assembly meeting held Thursday, April 1, 2010, eighty (80) PTA members were in attendance for the purpose of electing the members of the Nominating Committee. The ballots were counted and tallied once by
Nancy Turner and recounted and retallied by Carol Ranft.

Alicia, Miriam, and Kathy Jackson were also present as ballots were counted and tallied.

The results were as follows:

Nominating Committee Members are:

Chris Czarick
Carla Mitchell
Melissa Madsen
Laura Miller

Alternates are:
Kathie Furuglyas and Janice Joseph

The alternates attend every meeting, but vote only in the event that one of the five nominating committee members is unable to attend a meeting in which a vote is cast.
